Dos and Don’ts
When You’re Buying Weed from a Recreational Dispensary
Bring your state-issued ID - Workers can’t legally sell you anything from their cannabis store unless you have a driver’s license that states you are 21 or older. Why? Well, weed is illegal for any person under the age of 21 in the state of Maine.
Bring cash - A common issue that people encounter when they try to use a debit card to purchase cannabis is providers like square shutting down when they realize it’s a cannabis sale. To avoid running into this issue, you should just bring cash.
No Grab & Go - This prevents people from walking into a recreational dispensary, grabbing weed, and making a run for it because that would be a terrible situation to deal with. Instead, even regulars are required to show a state ID every time before they can purchase cannabis from a cannabis store.
Be courteous - Don’t ever purchase weed from a recreational dispensary and then smoke it outside of the weed store. Not only is it not courteous, but it’s also not legal. You should go home to smoke the weed you purchase.
Figure out the reason you want cannabis – There are different types of weed that you can purchase from a recreational dispensary to fit the reason you are purchasing it. Some people want cannabis for pain or anxiety, while others want to use it just for fun.
